Agents are the core building blocks of your O-mega workspace. Each agent is a fully customizable AI assistant with its own distinct identity, skills, and capabilities. Think of an agent as a digital team member—someone with a defined role, a particular way of communicating, and access to the specific accounts and tools they need to do their job.

When you create an agent, you're essentially hiring a new member for your virtual workforce. You define who they are, what they're responsible for, and how they should operate. This identity becomes the foundation for everything the agent does on your behalf.

What Defines an Agent

Every agent in O-mega has a set of characteristics that shape its behavior and capabilities. These aren't just labels—they actively influence how your agent interprets requests, communicates with you, and approaches tasks.

The core components of an agent's identity include:

  • Name - A human name that identifies your agent in conversations and across your workspace
  • Title - A job title or role descriptor that frames their function (like "Marketing Assistant" or "Research Lead")
  • Role Description - The core responsibilities and mission that guide what your agent does and how they approach work
  • Personality - Communication style and behavioral traits that define how your agent interacts with you
  • Rules - Hard constraints that your agent must always follow, regardless of other instructions
  • AI Model - The underlying language model that powers your agent's thinking and responses

These elements work together to create a coherent identity. A "Research Analyst" with a "Thorough" personality will behave differently than a "Social Media Manager" with a "Creative" personality—not just in what they do, but in how they communicate and make decisions.

Creating an Agent

Setting up your first agent takes just a few minutes. The process walks you through defining who your agent is and what they should be capable of.

To create an agent:

  1. Navigate to the Agents section of your workspace
  2. Click "Create Agent" or choose from a template
  3. Enter a name and professional title for your agent
  4. Write a role description that captures their core responsibilities
  5. Optionally add personality traits and operational rules
  6. Select which AI model should power the agent
  7. Save your agent

Once saved, your agent is immediately ready to work. You can start chatting with them, assigning tasks, or connecting the accounts they'll need to operate effectively.

Quick Start with Templates

If you're not sure where to begin, O-mega offers pre-configured agent templates for common use cases. Templates give you a head start by providing optimized configurations that you can use as-is or customize further.

Available templates include:

  • Research assistants for gathering and synthesizing information
  • Social media managers for handling online presence
  • Data analysts for processing and interpreting information
  • Content writers for creating written materials

Each template comes with a thoughtfully designed role description and suggested tools. You can modify any aspect after creation to better fit your specific needs.

Your Agent's Conversation

Each agent has a dedicated conversation space where you interact with them. This isn't just a chat window—it's where you collaborate, review work, and guide your agent over time.

In this conversation you can:

  • Chat naturally to assign tasks and give instructions
  • Ask questions and receive detailed responses
  • Review work history and the deliverables your agent has produced
  • Adjust settings and configuration as your needs evolve

Your conversation history persists, so your agent can reference past discussions and build on previous work. Over time, this creates a rich context that helps your agent understand your preferences and work more effectively.

What's Next

Creating your agent is just the beginning. To unlock their full potential, you'll want to refine their identity and connect them to the platforms where they'll work.
